KABUL (Pajhwok): Spinghar Tigers defeated Band-i-Amir Dragons by 24 runs in a Shpageeza Cricket League match played on Monday. According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), the match was part of the 11th edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League. Band-e-Amir won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Spinghar Tigers scored 209 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Bahir Shah top-scored with 56 runs, Noorur Rahman made 48, Ejaz Ahmadzai contributed 30, while Darwish Rasooli and Ismat Alam chipped in with 20 runs each. For Band-i-Amir, Syed Sherzad and Salam Khan claimed two wickets each, while Mohammad Saleem, Nangyal Kharoti, Izharulhaq Naveen and Farmanullah took one wicket apiece. In reply, Band-i-Amir Dragons managed 185 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs, falling 24 runs short of the target. Barakzai Nasiri led the chase with 69 runs, followed by Sediqullah Atal with 58 and Sediq Pacha with 35. For Spinghar Tigers, Rashid Khan, Ismat Alam, Mohammad Ibrahim and Ejazulhaq picked up two wickets each. Another Shpageeza Cricket League match is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, with Amo Sharks taking on Mis Ainak Champions at 2:00pm.
