KABUL (Pajhwok): US President Donald Trump has described his meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “very good and positive.” Reuters reported that the two leaders travelled to Washington on Tuesday to attend a memorial ceremony for Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a prominent supporter of Ukraine and Israel who died earlier this month. In separate posts on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he discussed a range of important issues with both leaders but did not disclose further details. Referring to his meeting with Netanyahu, Trump wrote: “We had a very good meeting and discussed many important issues.” Netanyahu also described the meeting as “excellent,” according to Reuters. Following his meeting with Trump, Zelensky said they had discussed plans to produce interceptors for the Patriot air defence system in Ukraine, as well as efforts to revive peace talks with Russia. Trump likewise described his meeting with Zelensky as productive, writing: “Many topics were discussed, and the meeting went very well.” The meetings came as the war between Russia and Ukraine continues and the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical amid repeated ceasefire violations.
