KABUL (Pajhwok): US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, are travelling abroad in a fresh effort to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, Trump said the United States had a new proposal aimed at ending the war, now in its fifth year, but did not provide details. “I sent Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, two great negotiators. They’ve done a great job, and we sent them over to see whether or not we can get something done,” Trump said. “There may be a good chance that we’ll do it,” he added.
