KABUL (Pajhwok): A total of 191 families comprising 886 individuals forcibly repatriated to Afghanistan were registered at four crossings on Monday, while 137 families were transferred to various provinces, the High Commission for Refugees’ Affairs said. According to the commission’s daily report, essential services including registration, transportation, financial assistance, healthcare, food and communication support were provided to returnees arriving through Torkham, Spin Boldak, the Silk Route and Islam Qala. At Torkham in Nangarhar province, 77 families comprising 413 individuals were repatriated and registered. The report said 95 families comprising 518 individuals were transferred from Torkham to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kabul, with 373,230 afghanis provided for transportation. A total of 964,000 afghanis in financial assistance was distributed among 116 families at Torkham. Returnees also received 1,746 meals and 82 SIM cards, while 491 patients were treated. At Spin Boldak in Kandahar province, 19 families comprising 102 individuals were repatriated and registered, while 19 families comprising 95 individuals were transferred to various provinces. The report said 222,600 afghanis was provided for transportation and 182,000 afghanis in financial assistance was distributed among 20 families. A total of 251 meals and 18 SIM cards were also distributed. In Nimroz, 64 families comprising 261 individuals were repatriated and registered through the Silk Route.
