2 killed, several wounded in Minneapolis shooting — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least two people were killed and several others wounded, including three police officers, after a gunman opened fire at an apartment building in the US city of Minneapolis on Wednesday. Garret Parten, a police spokesman, said the suspect had also died, Al Jazeera reported. Police responded to a shooting call at a downtown apartment building shortly after 4:30pm local time. Officers found the victims after entering the high-rise. One person died at the scene, while another died later in hospital. Four people were taken to hospital, including three police officers. Two officers were shot and all three were in stable condition, according to Hennepin County Medical Center. Parten said it was not immediately clear how the suspect died. Police also had no immediate information about a possible motive. Videos posted on social media showed police aiming weapons at an apartment building near the Minneapolis Convention Center. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz thanked emergency responders and said state officials were assisting local law enforcement. “Grateful to law enforcement actively working to ensure the safety of our neighbors in Downtown Minneapolis this afternoon,” he said on X.
