4 suspects arrested over killing of young man in Jawzjan — Pajhwok

SHEBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Security officials in northern Jawzjan province say four people have been arrested in connection with the killing of a 23-year-old man in Sheberghan City. Police spokesman Qari Abdul Sattar Halimi told Pajhwok Afghan News that the suspects were detained in the third security district of Sheberghan, the provincial capital. Halimi said Parviz, a resident of Afsharkhana village in Sheberghan, had gone to the Baba Ali desert area with three friends for recreation and to eat watermelon. He said Parviz was shot with a shotgun by one of his friends at around 10pm and died from his injuries. The police spokesman did not provide further details about the identities of the arrested individuals or the alleged involvement of the fourth suspect in the incident. Halimi said the motive behind the killing remains unclear and that security and intelligence forces are continuing their investigation.
