Afghan, Russian, Kazakh traders sign $446.6m MoUs — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) says Afghan traders and their counterparts from Russia’s Dagestan and Tyumen regions, as well as Kazakhstan, have signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth 446.62 million afghanis. According to an ACCI statement, the agreements were signed on Monday during a Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting between Afghan traders and investors and a joint trade delegation from Dagestan, Tyumen and Kazakhstan in Kabul. The statement said ACCI officials, Afghan traders and investors, and members of the Russian and Kazakh trade delegation attended the meeting, where they discussed business opportunities, investment potential and ways to expand bilateral trade cooperation. According to the ACCI, the MoUs cover the sectors of construction materials, pharmaceuticals, food products and agricultural services. Abdul Nafi Barakzai, the ACCI’s deputy for support of domestic production and products, said such meetings play an important role in promoting trade, attracting investment and showcasing economic opportunities. He also stressed the importance of cooperation between governments and the private sector in supporting economic growth. The statement added that Eliskovich, deputy head of the Tyumen Chamber of Commerce, thanked the ACCI for hosting the delegation and described the visit as productive.
