Water supply project completed in Ghor — Pajhwok
FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A new water supply project has been completed in Pasaband district of western Ghor province, providing access to safe drinking water for 180 families, officials said on Wednesday. Zabihullah Ghawsizada, spokesman for the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the project was implemented in Chashma-i-Surkhak village of Pasaband district at a cost of 5.4 million afghanis. He said the project was funded by the World Bank and implemented with technical support from the Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees. According to Ghawsizada, the project included the construction of a 36-cubic-metre water reservoir, installation of 20 solar panels, construction of 134 water taps and the laying of 7,520 metres of pipeline. It was officially inaugurated on Wednesday. He said the project had provided 180 families in the village with access to safe drinking water. Local residents welcomed the completion of the project. Nasrullah, a resident of the village, said: “We are very pleased that a water supply network has been built in our village and piped drinking water has reached our homes. Previously, we collected water from springs or hand-dug wells, which was difficult and unsafe.
