KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Health Organisation (WHO) says around 150 tonnes of medicines and medical supplies will be transported from Dubai to Egypt to support about 500,000 patients in Gaza. In a post on X, the WHO said the shipment includes emergency health kits, essential medicines, nutritional supplies, diagnostic equipment, shelter materials, medicines for chronic diseases and surgical supplies. The supplies will be provided to WHO, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and international humanitarian partners, including PALMED, EMERGENCY and US Relief Without Borders. The WHO said the charter flights are being carried out with support and operational cooperation from the Dubai Humanitarian Centre and the UAE government, allowing larger quantities of urgently needed medical supplies to be delivered more quickly and at a lower cost.
