1 killed, 28 injured as bus overturns in Zabul — Pajhwok

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): One person was killed and 28 others injured after a passenger bus overturned on the Kabul–Kandahar highway in Shahjoy district of southern Zabul province, officials said on Monday. Police spokesman Mawlavi Zabihullah Johar told Pajhwok Afghan News that the accident occurred around 4:00am on Monday in the Bazargan area of Shahjoy district. He said a 580-type passenger bus was travelling from Herat to Kabul when it veered off the road and overturned. According to Johar, the injured include 18 men, six women and four children. He added that traffic police and other security personnel reached the scene after the accident, transported the injured to the nearest health facility and launched an investigation into the cause and circumstances of the incident.
